Since 2005, Jack Novorr has set out to raise money for Children's Mercy Hospital during the
holidays. It began when Jack was 5 years old and walked past the television set at home during
a news story about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The story he noticed on t.v. was about
sick children who were victims of the hurricane and were being airlifted to Children's Mercy in
Kansas City. These kids had lost most everything, including in some cases their parents. After
we explained (as best we could to a 5 year old) what happened, Jack disappeared to his room.
When I went to check in on him, he was sitting on his floor emptying out his piggy bank. He
told me that he wanted to give all of his money to the kids on t.v. to help buy new houses,
clothes, and toys. Needless to say, he had a pretty full piggy bank. He donated several hundred
dollars of his own money (all in loose change), which went directly to help the kids that he saw
on television.

The following year, Jack recruited his younger sister Sophie to help raise money. Together, they
raised more donations than the year before. Their donation that year, and every year since has
grown, and has funded new toys for sick kids to play with while staying at Children's Mercy.
This year, with the power of 3 younger siblings (Sophie, Tate, and Lilah), Jack is more
determined than ever. He's partnered with our neighbors who recently opened "Jumping Jax",
an indoor inflatable play venue in Overland Park. Jumping Jax has generously donated 3 open
play sessions to the public, in exchange for a donation to Children's Mercy Hospital.
Bring this letter/coupon to Jumping Jax on one of the 3 dates, and enjoy an open play session,
in exchange for your donation. If you would simply like to make a donation, that would be
greatly appreciated as well. Simply mail your donation to Jack c/o Children's Mercy Hospital.
Play times at Jumping Jax to benefit Children's Mercy are:
12/21 10:00am - Noon
12/22 1:00pm - 3:00pm
12/23 3:00pm - 5:00pm
100% of the proceeds will be used to buy much needed supplies for the children at the hospital.
Thank you for your support of Jack and Children's Mercy
Hospital.
